Please ensure you pick up your dog on or after the arranged pick-up time. It's crucial not to return earlier as it can disrupt the grooming process if your dog sees you. We won't call you for pick-up unless specified, except in cases where your dog is still with us after closing time (5pm).

A $20 late fee applies for pick-ups after our closing time (5pm).

Please be aware that closing times may vary depending on our workload. On quieter days, we may close earlier, so prompt pick-up is appreciated. During pick-up, we'll provide you with an update on your dog's day. Our friendly, professional, and experienced groomers at DOGS prioritize the well-being of your dog during their time with us. Whether you're a returning or new customer, we treat you with respect and strive to accommodate you and your dog to the best of our abilities.

Have a question?

General

  • What services do you offer?

We offer full grooms & wash and tidy’s. A full groom is a complete haircut including clipping the nails and tidying up the private areas. A wash and tidy take no length off the body. It includes tidying up areas such as the feet, face, bottom, nails and private areas. For those breeds with shorter hair (i.e Staffy, Visla, Greyhound, Bulldog ect) we offer a full wash, nail trim and ear clean. We also offer DAYCARE at $40 per dog for the whole day.

  • How much will my dog cost?

Pricing depends on the breed of your dog, the size and the condition of the hair.

I.e. whether you wanted a long or short haircut or how matted the dog is. We will

do an on the spot consultation the morning of your booking and go over everything with you then.

  • What time can i drop off my dog?

We are open from 9am. Please do not try and come into the shop before then.

Any time between 9am-11am our drop-off time. We no longer accept drop offs after 11am. If you require an earlier drop off this time is 8:45am, latest drop off is 12pm (if arranged prior to the date of your booking).

  • Can i stay whilst my dog gets groomed?

No! We never allow any customers to stay during the time their dog is with us (unless for a quick nail clip only). It is super disruptive and can be very unsettling for the dog if they know you're still there. It will also make it extremely difficult for us to do our job. If you wish for your dog's time with us to be short, please make sure you organise early drop-off and pick-up when you book in.

  • Are you mobile?

No. We are based in a shop in an industrial estate on Mitchell Road, Brookvale.

Bookings

  • Do you send out reminders for bookings?

We are currently working on getting a reminder system set in place to send out text message reminders 2 days before your booking. This will give you ample notice to let us know you've either confirmed your booking, need to cancel or change the date

  • NO-SHOW FEE

Starting from Thursday 1st February 2024, we will be implementing a NO SHOW FEE. For any missed appointments due to forgetting, not showing up without a valid explanation or late cancellation (i.e. not giving at least 24 hours' notice) you will be charged an additional 50% of your dog’s grooming price when you re-book. This is to cover the cost of your missed appointment, staffing and operating costs.

This fee will ensure that we can accommodate as many customers as possible, sustain a fair booking system and maintain our commitment to providing the best possible service.
We value your time and the time of our groomers.
We understand that life can be unpredictable. However, we kindly ask for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.
There are a few serious circumstances where the fee will be waived, or if the date of the booking was incorrect.

  • Can i get a same day/week booking?

Generally not! Dog grooming places are usually booked about 2-3 weeks in

advance all year round. Please be patient with us as we will always do our best to

get you in at our earliest availability possible.

  • What classifies me as a regular customer?

A regular customer is someone who visits us on a regular basis (i.e. anywhere from every 2 weeks to every 10-12 weeks). If you have been a regular customer with us before, HAVEN'T booked in with us for more than 6 months and upto 2 years+ and then try to book in with us, this classfies you as a returning customer, NOT a regular customer. During out busier periods we prioritise our regular customers over returning and new customers.

  • Parking

Dogs Only Grooming has a car spot directly across from the entrance. Just look for

number 6 on the ground which corresponds to our door number.

Dog Information

  • MATTING! - Why is my dogs haircut patchy and uneven?

Any haircut longer than 1cm requires your dogs hair to have absolutely NO MATTS!

We use a fine tooth comb attachment on all our clippers that come in different

lengths to achieve these longer haircuts. Anywhere your dogs hair is matted or

knotty the combs WILL NOT go through the hair. If you wish for your dog to have a

longer haircut but certain areas are matted, this is when the haircut becomes patchy and uneven as we have to shave short the areas that are matted. It is uncomfortable and unfair on the dog for us to try and brush these out where the

matting is in clumps. It can also cause skin irritation and hot-spotting if not

    removed.

It is ESSENTIAL to brush your dogs hair regularly if you desire anything longer than

    1cm.

  • Lengths according to seasons

A lot of people generally go for 1cm or shorter during the warmer months. For our

bigger breed dogs (i.e Groodles, Labradoodles, Sheepadoodles) we only ever do

1cm or shorter during this time. We work in a fast paced environment and

unfortunately cannot facilitate doing anything longer within the time frames we

have throughout the day and the amount of dogs we do.

Longer haircuts involve more labour and generally cost more.

  • Do you feed or give treats during the day?

No. We do not feed the dogs or give them any form of treats whilst they are in our care.

We do however have several water bowls placed around the room for hydration throughout the day.

  • Will you take my XXL breed dog?

Unfortunately we no longer take on larger breed dogs. This includes St Bernards,

Malamutes, Sheepadoodles, Samoyeds, Huskies, German Shepherds, Bernese Mountain Dogs,

Irish Wolfhounds, Newfoundlands, Russian Terriers and/or any similar breeds.

  • My dog doesn’t mix well with other dogs, is this okay?

We have separate fenced off areas for those dogs that don’t mix well with other

dogs. We also recommend an ASAP groom for these dogs.

  • Can you do my dogs nails without a booking?

Yes we can. We can clip you dogs nails any time during opening hours. This does

not require a booking and costs $10

  • Old dogs VS puppies

Old Dogs - They tend to be a little more difficult to groom but we try and make it

as comfortable for them as possible whilst in our care. This is when the groom

becomes what we call a “COMFORT CLIP”. This means we only ever do what the

dog will allow us to do as we don’t want them to be stressed out.

COMFORT CLIP - the haircut might not be as neat as what we’d like if the dog

doesn’t like certain things being done, but we will always do our best to get it done

    for you.

Puppies - They can be very wriggly at the best of times. We always suggest

starting off our puppies with the wash and tidy service which allows them to

become familiarised with the experience. We also recommend that they are left just

that little bit longer in our care so they have to time run around and explore on our

open floor space in between being washed, dried and picked up again to be

    groomed.

Because she knew how to strike a paws!"
